g5604 I believe there is already a couple similar threads but...
Personally, I have two computers at home/work- Linux and MacOSX. So, I am able to test on Firefox/Lynx/Safari. I use browsershots.org for free screenshots. There is also browsercam.com
Firefox, Opera, Internet Explorer.

Things that work in Firefox _usally_ works in Opera and Safari as well. I always try to test sites with the most browsers I can.
When testing, never forget to test with Konqueror, since that is a very populat Linux browser.

I allways build for Firefox first. Than I check in the BETA 7 ie and then when I put it on my main comp I test in the older versions of IE and add anything needed to keep presentation up to par. I also tend to randomly check in Opera and Netscape but netscapes a waste, althout I don't tend to have many problems but I guess thats a good thing.

During the site development process, I test in this order:
PC: IE6 (XP)
PC: Firefox (most recent)
Mac: Safari 1.5
When the specific template I'm working on is close to finished, I change to the following order:
PC: IE6 (XP)
PC: Firefox 1.0
PC: Firefox (most recent)
Mac: Safari 1.2
Mac: Safari 1.5
Mac: Firefox (most recent)
PC: Netscape 8
Sometimes there are other browsers that are tested, but only if the project's technical baseline differs from our basic one. We're even working on a site now that required Mac IE 5.2 (client gets what they ask for... and pay for it ;) ).
The order that I test in is just the easiest I've found to get them all looking the same. By the time the template is finished, everything lines up the way it should across all browsers & platforms we test on.

I code in firefox and IE, switching between the two to make changes so they match up right. I would test for Safari, but you can't install it on a Windows PC--so how could I?
There are those screenshot sites that show you what it looks like in Safari, but the computer I code on isn't connected to the internet. So...yeah.
