Hi,

i know i should not be using px for font sizes but i just cant shake off the feeling that i am losing control. Does anyone know of a good article explaining how to use em's effectively? Can you even get control with a relative font size?

Sure you can 'get control' with relative font sizes. You can even have a fixed width (in px) design, and still cater for a reasonable font-scaling website. The keyword is reasonable. No one is expecting your site to look perfect in a massively over the top sized font. Rule of thumb is two 'clicks' bigger or smaller (this is the range IE6 can scale).
