Page background question

This is something I've wondered in the past, but just seen a very good example of.

If you look at the site here:

http://www.i-escape.com

I would know how to do it if it was the same all the way across, ie just set the page background to repeat:x.

But what is the trick to have a different background on the left hand side, to the right hand side?
