Default How to Correct A Script Error

When it comes to PHP scripts, or any script for that matter, I am a complete idiot.

That said, I am trying to get a script (GentleSource Comments) to work on a new website site and I need some help please.

I got the script installed (I think) and when I go into the admin section, I get the following error message:

Notice: Use of undefined constant E_DEPRECATED - assumed 'E_DEPRECATED' in /web/sites/pimpdaddy/pickmysmoker.com/comments/include/core.inc.php on line 154

and I have no idea what to do to fix it.

I looked at the file core.inc.php and the only thing I can find that seems to be related to this is as follows:

if ($c5t['debug_mode'] == true) {
ini_set('error_reporting', E_ALL ^ E_DEPRECATED);
ini_set('display_errors', true);
} else {
ini_set('error_reporting', 0);
ini_set('display_errors', false);
}

if ($c5t['log_erros'] == 'Y') {
ini_set('log_errors', true);
ini_set('error_log', C5T_ROOT . 'cache/php_error_log.txt');
ini_set('error_reporting', E_ALL ^ E_DEPRECATED);
ini_set('display_errors', false);
}

If somebody could help me out with how to fix/correct this I would really appreciate it.

Many thanks . . .

UPDATE:

Okay, I did some checking around and found that PHP 5.3 introduced a new error reporting level E_DEPRECATED and this particular article suggests using:

error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_DEPRECATED

to fix the problem. So I changed the code and it appears to have worked so I guess I figured it out . . . unless somebody knows something I haven't figured out yet.
