Default Site not centering (tried everything)

Hey all

So I've been working with a site recently and it will not seem to let me center the site in the window. it seems to sit off to the left no matter what.

Before i was having this problem I noticed it wasn't working correctly on small screens. it would lose half the page when made smaller...

Live site of what happens when site is made smaller... LINK <-- this one looses half the site on small screens and then doesn't center on larger screens...

So i played around and got that part fixed only to break something far worse... Cant for the life of me figure out what to do. Any help would be very much appreciated.

live site @ LINK <-- This one works on small screens but weird on large screens.

Any ideas what i can do to fix it?

I prefer the way the 1st link "LOOKS" but still would like the site centered and be able to make screen smaller width wise without loosing half the site...

I hope I've explained it enough.

Thanks in advance.

I can assure you, you haven't tried everything. Set the margin to auto on your body.

Hmm i tried that multiple times in different locations but it seems to be working, any idea whats stopping the the background expanding now like in the other link?

I mean i would like it so the white/green both expand also.

The ingredients are a set width, and an auto margin for left and right.

Which background? The green is full from what I see.

I want the Green and White to be stripped all the way across, so its goes like this

<----------------White---------------->>
<----------------Green---------------->
<----------------White---------------->>
<----------------Green---------------->

and not like this

<--Green--><--White--><--Green-->
<----------------Green---------------->
<--Green--><--White--><--Green-->
<----------------Green----------------->

I hope that makes sense.

You can kind of see it here but its broken in other ways:

You'll need outer DIVs without a width which holds the color, and inside of that have your content in a centered DIV.
