Default problems with div float.

I read the post on 2 divs side by side. My divs go header, navigation, content, footer. and in content I put 2 divs one for "featured property" and another for something else like "news" or "updates" or possibly a widget. Here is my problem:

Add overflow:hidden to your containing element.

Also give footer a width or look into 'Clearfix'

or

#footer{clear:both}

or
Code:
...
</div> <!--/ content area container div -->
<div class="clear"></div>
<div id="footer">
...
where clear is:
Code:
.clear{width:100%; display:block; clear:both;}
there are many solutions to this some not as nice as others.
