Default CSS Spacing help

Here is the code:
http://codepen.io/overdrivemachines/pen/zwrdE

What is causing the space above Lorem in Row 1, Column 3?

How do I get rid of it?

In the CSS, the selector .menu ul li div has a height attribute of 40px applied. If you remove that line, the space above the Lorem ipsum... disappears but it does cause issues in other parts of the layout.

The the final solution would be to select only that DIV.
