Default Dueling Elements

Within my WordPress site, I am trying to format one of my navigation elements. You can find it at www.betterpresenting.com, where the links that begin with "HOME" have a bit too much padding around them.

Using Chrome's Inspector, I found the element controlling this:

.fl-page-nav-wrap .navbar-nav > li > a

and can effect the desired change by adjusting the Padding values in the cached version of the page. However, when I return to my site and make the change for real (using the Simple Custom CSS plugin), the values are not being honored. They are being overwritten by something else. My values are:

.fl-page-nav-wrap .navbar-nav > li > a {font-size: 16px; padding: 10px 30px 10px 0px}

But when I refresh the page in Chrome, the values revert to 15, 20, 15, and 20.

I am unable to determine what is going wrong here. Might anyone care to speculate? Many thanks in advance.
