Default Microsoft Expressions

I'm not sure if anyone of you heard of this already.

Microsoft is developing something to kill off Macromedia and Adobe!

Named Microsoft Expressions, the suite has 3 programs included appropriately named Expression Interactive Designer, Expression Graphic Designer and Expression Web Designer.

The Suite is supposed to be fighting with Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver in my opinion, and so far, they have released a Technology Preview for each of the 3 programs. So far, I think Expression Interactive Designer is the most interesting of the 3, and rightly so.

It expresses some long standing problems Flash has experienced. For example, 3D compatibility, and smoother and nicer looking text, to improve readibility.

To take a look at the various program previews or to download the Technology Preview, head over to Microsoft by clicking the link below:

I haven't heard of that. I wouldn't try Microsoft's new graphic softwares!

I prefer Adobe. Photoshop and Illustrator are my favourite! I'm using them since 2002. No way I am not going to try ANY new graphic softwares as I'll have to re-learn.

Microsoft is supposed to developing the operating system softwares and office softwares such as Word and Excell. What took them so long not to release or produce the graphics software.

Adobe +1!

I have heard of this. /ignore @ m$

I hate macromedia appz. So I hope that Adobe will release a adobe-style-edition of flash/dw xD

But I will always be using scite/notepad2 + PS

Edit: But if it's true that m$ expressions web designer can generate css-based layouts then that's great!

Haha funny joke! You almost got me there No serious, m$ can't make a browser that supports CSS. So I don't think they can make a program that generate (Valid) CSS-code. No way.

haha, I think the Graphic Designer and Web Designer is just plain **** from the videos.

The interesting one is Interactive Designer and its 3D capabilities which I'm interested in. It's looking very cool if 3D can be manipulated that way.

I think Microsoft can't afford to create an application wich is supposed to defeat another party (adobe/mm in this case) and the fail.

Be aware of this product, it might change the devscene IMHO.
