Default Completely New to CSS

Hey guys,

Forgive me if this isn't the right forum to be posting in. I found this forum after searching endlessly for a very thorough beginners CSS guide. However, most (if not all) tutorials already assume you know something about XHTML?/CSS. I would really like to design something unique like most everyone here. The main idea of my website is to showcase my photography. I would like to create something with a minimalistic feel while still captivating the viewer through the layout/style. I looked at the list of resources in the Beginner's forum, but the information there is simply overwhelming. I clicked on the first link and it was just a whole bunch of links after that. Anyways, if that's where the best information is, then I shall stick to it. I know people suggest books, but i'd like to see if tutorials can offer me enough to get something up and running.

Thanks in advance!

For an introduction to web standards I would suggest this article: http://www.456bereastreet.com/lab/de...web_standards/
Its a bit of a long read but well worth it.

As for other articles / tutorials it would depend on your knowledge of html and web development. Have you created or designed any websites previously or would this be your very first site?

As your looking to display photographic work I thought I'd post one of my sites that I use a cool javascript on.

The css is very basic, but that's not important now, just thought you maybe interested in viewing a javascript that is easy to setup and could be implemented into your css layout.

Cheers

PS If you'd like the URL to the script (btw it's free) just ask here.

This link is very basic tutorial on how to convert table to tableless and my example codes with step to step. That'll help you to understand xhtml/css.

If you have any problems with photography website, you're welcome to ask here!
