Well, if your computer can run it, I'd say Windows 7. XP will be losing support sometime next year I believe, and 7 has an XP mode, so you can have the stability of 7, and still have the feel of XP if you want. Or you can use the much cooler GUI of 7

I am leaning towards it, my PC can certainly run it. the lack of support for XP these days is only going to get worse, and well ie9+ wont run on it.

its just I hated Vista soooo much, and wasnt sure if win7 was really vista dressed up....

Actually, from what I've heard, 7 is what Vista should have been. So basically, it's Vista without the bugs, and a few GUI updates.

If you want proof for that, consider the last time you saw a Mac vs PC commercial like they ran all the time when Vista came out.

I hear a lot of people saying Win7 is much better. XP users have been waiting for Win7 and believe Win7 is revamped from XP. Actually I had to google it, it's really Vista, major bugs fixed, some new features, and restyled to make it a bit like XP style.

I never bought into the mac v pc debate, although old fogeys on both camps do make me laugh, therefore I never really paid any attention to those ads.
my first computer was an Apple IIc, followed by an IBM 286! yeah!haha...
since then I've switched and swapped between the two, until my last beast(hack), which is now about 6 months old. my current system runs 3OS's snowleopard, XP and Kubuntu...I am very happy with 2 out of the three but the XP machine is not making me very happy. Although neither is open office on the Mac...is win 7 still needing a lot of virus protection like xp does. have not had a single issue with both SL or K (viruswise) but it seems like every single time I am on the net on the XP it gets some issue and requires me to then have to compromise everything, continually hit popups that are plain annoying and they seem to be getting more creative these days, making it look like actual windows messages... I sure hope that has improved!!.

7 definitely IS what Vista should have been. I stayed with Windows 2000 up until I put Windows 7 RC1 on a laptop and found it was noticably quicker than XP had been on the same hardware (2Gb ram).
Now laptop and desktop are both on Windows 7 and I might put a bigger SSD in my netbook and put Windows 7 on there as well, just to see the back of Win XP completely.

But I will stay with Android on my phone.
